Description:Protection and Advocacy for People with Disabilities, Inc. (P&A) is authorized by state and federal law to protect the rights of people with disabilities in South Carolina. P&A promotes this mission by enabling individuals to advocate for themselves, by speaking on their behalf when they have been discriminated against or denied a service to which they are entitled, and by promoting policies and services which respect their choices. Services P&A Provides: Information & Referral, Case Representation, Systemic Advocacy, and Self-Advocacy Training, Education and Outreach.

Description:SCATP is a federally funded project concerned with getting technology into the hands of people with disabilities so that they might live, work, learn and be a more independent part of the community. Examples of assistive technologies include modified eating utensils, page turners, dressing aids; devices that help with speech or hearing; mobility aids like wheelchairs, scooters, walkers; computer access aids like touch screens, modified keyboards, and much more. On the Website is information about how to learn about and access assistive technology. SCATP also provides information and referral, equipment loans, a demonstration center and an annual Expo that is free and open to the public where people can learn about the latest technology.
