The goal of the United Way Association of South Carolina is to be a key influence in public policy, give support to the local chapters and provides leadership training to other non-profits. Local United Way agencies provide a variety of social services, including information and referral for emergency or non-emergency needs such as: counseling, food and shelter, suicide prevention, emergency shelter for children and battered women, and other human service needs.
