Description:Charleston Area Senior Citizens, Inc. (CASC) is a nonprofit agency that provides programs and services to promote the well-being of aging persons living in Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties. CASC provides services to tri-county residents age 55 and older (depending upon the service), their spouses, dependents with disabilities, and caregivers. Services offered include: care management; individual advocacy; group and home-delivered meals; companion service; homemaker help; in-home respite care; information and referral to local resources; job training and placement; adult enrichment education; social and recreational activities; subsidized housing; and numerous volunteer opportunities .

Description:Dorchester Seniors, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization providing services for senior citizens of Dorchester County to enhance their educational, mental, social, spiritual, and physical well-being. Services include home-delivered meals, congregate meals, in-home services, information and referral, service management, and transportation to senior centers for congregate meals and other center activities. Dorchester Seniors operates two senior centers in Summerville and St. George; members must be 50 years of age or older. Center memberships are free to any Dorchester County residents; out-of-county residents pay a small yearly fee.

Description:In South Carolina, each county has a designated agency that provides programs and services for older adults that are funded by the state and federal government. The Orangeburg County Council on Aging provides these programs and services to promote the well being of aging persons living in Orangeburg County.
