Description: | The Columbia Area Mental Health Center is one of seventeen Community Mental Health Centers in South Carolina operating under the auspices of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH). This center serves as the administrative office for mental health services provided by SCDMH in Fairfield and Richland counties. As part of the service delivery network of the SCDMH, this local office provides or will assist persons in obtaining a variety of mental health services and supports according to their assessed needs. The services they have are: long term treatment for those who have a chronic mental illness, treatment for borderline personality disorder, adult foster care for those who are mentally ill, a hospital liaison program, and mental health court to divert inmates from jail to treatment. There is also centers that have a psychosocial rehabilitation program and provide services to young adults. |
