Description:The Columbia Area Mental Health Center is one of seventeen Community Mental Health Centers in South Carolina operating under the auspices of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH). This center serves as the administrative office for mental health services provided by SCDMH in Fairfield and Richland counties. As part of the service delivery network of the SCDMH, this local office provides or will assist persons in obtaining a variety of mental health services and supports according to their assessed needs. The services they have are: long term treatment for those who have a chronic mental illness, treatment for borderline personality disorder, adult foster care for those who are mentally ill, a hospital liaison program, and mental health court to divert inmates from jail to treatment. There is also centers that have a psychosocial rehabilitation program and provide services to young adults.

Description:Morris Village is a 160-bed inpatient addiction treatment facility of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. It is a specialized hospital licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and accredited by The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF). Morris Village provides evaluation, detoxification, crisis stabilization and treatment of chemical dependence. Services include medical care, group therapy, activity therapy, family education and therapy, ropes course, preparation for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA), relapse prevention planning and case management. South Carolina residents over the age of 18 are eligible for admission to Morris Village.

Description:Latinos Contra SIDA delivers culturally and linguistically appropriate HIV/AIDS/STD prevention, information, counseling and testing to achieve its goal of promoting education and early detection among the Latino community. The program performs activities that include: risk reduction counseling, outreach activities, HIV testing and test counseling, resource advocacy, condom distribution, HIV prevention trainings, social services, and community referrals.

They can help with place to live, medical attention, and emotional support. It is a community-based advocacy organization and offers public education on HIV and on HIV prevention. Free HIV testing is available. Also houses Adams Place, which offers health screenings and referral services for men.
