Description:A general medical and surgical facility, Piedmont has continued to expand its campus and services with the goal of meeting the health care needs of York, Chester and Lancaster county areas. Services include cancer care, an advanced cardiac care unit, a digestive diseases center, a pain center, orthopedicas, maternity and other women's services, peediatrics, and more. The medical staff has increased from 52 in 1981 to nearly 310 today. The 288-bed Piedmont Medical Center is fully accredited by JCAHO and approved for the acceptance of Medicare patients. It has 268 general beds, 20 psychiatric beds, and 12 neonatal special care beds. It is certified as a Level III trauma center and a Level II-E perinatal center.
