Is there a cure for HIV/AIDS?

There is no cure for HIV/AIDS. Scientists and doctors are working hard to find a cure or develop a vaccine. Meanwhile, prevention and early detection are the best courses. Prevention relates to avoiding high-risk behaviors. Early detection relates to testing. Early detection expands treatment options, helping to preserve immune function, and reducing the chances of spreading the disease. People who put off being tested until they are sick with AIDS have more trouble fighting off opportunistic infections. If you think you may have been exposed to the HIV virus, get yourself tested and discontinue high-risk behaviors.
