Look for DHEC Hurricane Shelter Locator- Open Shelters at the bottom of the page and click on it. Enter your address on the next page to get a list of shelters and driving directions. This would be a good resource to use BEFORE a hurricane strikes. Add maps and directions to your hurricane preparation kit.

Topics on this site include storm surge, marine safety, high winds, tornadoes, floods, preparation tips, and a section for kids. Look in the Helpful Links section to find a Hurricane Guide for the public in both English and Spanish.
