Allies Against Asthma
This is a program to improve efforts to control pediatric asthma in children living in areas or situations where care is difficult to access. It is the result of a collaboration of groups around the country to develop community-based asthma management. It is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and based at the University of Michigan. Here you can find helpful information and tools for developing a program in your community.

Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma
(National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute)
The National Institutes of Health provides state-of-the-art clinical practice guidelines for diagnosing and managing asthma that update the 1991 expert panel report and incorporate the most recent scientific information available on the care of patients with asthma. Provides information on treating asthma at all severity levels and stresses both clinical and self-management strategies. Also provides a comprehensive discussion of current medications and their appropriate use. To review the guideline you will need Acrobat Reader or you can order a copy of the report for $7.50 at the same site.
