The services of this DHEC office include emergency response activities, environmental monitoring for EQC bureau programs (Air Quality, Water,Land and Waste Management), facility inspections and evaluations, technical assistance, on-site presence at certain commercial hazardous waste facilities, shellfish regulation, and a summer pool inspection program. Land and Waste Management--Emergency Response

This site provides toll-free, 24-hour phone numbers to DHEC's Emergency Response System that industry, first responders, and the public can call to report possible or actual releases of pollutants into the South Carolina environment. This includes hazardous materials like oil, chemicals, pesticides, hazardous waste, and others. You can also report fish kills, open burning of items such as tires, plastic, asbestos, and copper wire.
