South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium
This state agency works closely with South Carolina’s state universities and other partners to educate, recruit, and retain health care providers. Their programs aim to encourage young people, especially minorities and the economically disadvantaged, to enter the healthcare professions; to increase the number of physicians serving the rural areas; and to provide educational programs for health care providers at or near their workplace. On this site you will find educational and summer job programs for middle and high school students, undergraduates, and residency training programs for medical graduates. You will also find online courses for health professionals, bioterrorism training, on-line access to medical information resources, and links to all kinds of other health information resources.
