to The South Carolina Dental Directory for Individuals with Special Health Care Needs

This directory was compiled to identify dentists who will care for patients with special needs and establish a statewide network. Dentists responded to a questionnaire when they renewed their South Carolina Dental License.

The directory is a tool to be used by health professionals as well as by the layman. The goal is that this directory will facilitate access and referral of individuals with special health care needs to those dentists listed in the directory.

The original print edition, published in 2001, was an outcome of the MUSC Dental Program for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Special Patients. That program has been funded by the Department of Health and Human Services - Healthy South Carolina Initiative and The SC Developmental Disabilities Council.

The Duke Endowment funds the web version of the directory.
